What are these people thinking!

"Should Parenting Require a License?

Periodically someone comments here that perhaps parenting should require a license, just as it is a requirement for driving a car or, in some places, owning a dog.

A trio of stories in the news this week make that look like a very good idea."

This is the introduction to an article that sent my blood boiling! Under what circumstance will people open their eyes to what they are asking? Yes, some parents have real issues, but are we solving anything by insisting that ALL of us be required to answer to our selfish government? I mean really, do these people truly believe they would be immune to the "license" requirement?

It makes me want to scream when I think about. Then I take a breath and think, these people need a solution and they are grasping at straws. I'm not saying I know that solution, but I do know turning it over to government control is farthest from one.

What do you guys think? What would be a better solution or do you think these guys are right?
