They Found the flower, water, spice rack and OH YEAH!

I have a house full of curious children, probably because we have always encouraged them to explore and discover rather than just taking someones word for it, but this has led to many situations where "experiments" tend to take place in the kitchen.

Now these experiments are harmless, using baking ingredients in an effort, I believe, to see what will come of all those nifty, and expensive, spices if we put them all together with milk, water, ketchup, you name it! Occasionally we get the child insisting that everyone should taste the experiment (where did that idea come from?) and almost always we get the chasing each other around the house because it is really gooey or smelly!

My biggest mixers are Morgan and Danielle, they love to mix it up and spread it around and sometimes they land on something interesting. This in no way improves their cooking skills, but it certainly improves their thinking skills!

How about anyone else? Do you have a little scientist in the making?

Well my lady is really to small to try to do any experiments, even if she could reach the spices. I am thankful for this yet and I am worried about her becoming a little kitchen scientist one day. I have to admit it would be interesting to see what she mixes together, but I just don't want to clean up the mess! She already makes big enough food messes as it is!

I have enough messes to clean up around the house. Aiden helps with supervised cooking and loves to mix...but so far, I'm not one to let him just go on his own Cheesy. The closest we get is when he "washes the walls" in the shower. We go through loads of soap because he likes to wash the walls and rinse them off...but, I don't have to clean that up when we're done, so that's why I'm free and easy with that one.
