When Strangers Meddle
I went shopping my son this weekend and experienced a first: a stranger meddling in my business.

Any Suggestions on Handling Grocery Store Meltdowns?
We've had a rough week adjusting back to home life after vacation. Today we went to the grocery store and I didn't let him push the small cart that they have for children (I have an upper back/shoulder injury that I'm nursing and the thought of crouching down and grabbing that cart before he careened into things was more than I could handle today). He didn't want to ride in the big cart so I told him he needed to be obedient and listen to me if he was going to walk. Not 3 minutes later he was off touching different fruits and things on the shelves.

What do You Think of Child Restraints Like the Child Leash?
OK. So I was at the mall today and I saw the mother of all my pet peeves: the child leash. You know the cute little teddy bear back pack worn by the child, which attaches to a handle that the adult holds on to.
I was fuming. I wanted to say something so badly. Then I remembered you guys on the forum. I wondered if maybe there is another side to this coin. Perhaps there are reasonable explanations for this seemingly (to me) dehumanizing practice.
So, please share your thoughts.
Thanks!
Debra

My kids were put to the test; and they were great!
As most of you guys know we are out of town observing our Holy Days, this one lasting 8 total days. We are staying in a hotel, picture it, four kids cramped in hotel rooms for 8 days Shocked
On top of the hotel room we go to services each day, 2 hours in theater style chairs in a balcony, every day Shocked. We have no choice but to eat out, fast food (which always makes my kids hyper) nice restaurants, which demand the kids to sit still and behave, every day. Shocked

How do I handle my son's blatant response in delicate situations?
Hello everyone,
Wow, I have to say I found myself in a very awkward position yesterday. We took a trip up to a combined service with other church members to observe the Feast of Trumpets. It is always a wonderful encouragement to join together and just be with other members in our church. We had been invited to lunch with another family after the morning service and we of course gladly excepted. It was during this lunch that I found myself in a real awkward situation.
