Childhood Ilness

Well the news is full of all these scare tactics to stir up panic over this new H1N1 flu, which frankly is unfair to the common man here since most base their lives completely around the news! But seriously, the news is full of "beware" reports. So are my kid's schools! I bring ALL this up because of the past couple of weeks in my home, all credit due to these hype broadcasts.

So this weekend I had my first experience with vomit. Shocked Yes, Aiden is nearly 3 1/2 and this was his first time throwing-up...I should count my blessings!

We just finished dealing with our first stomach virus ever. I thought I'd start a thread for ideas about things that can help soothe a sick child.

I mixed apple juice and water for him...He is usually restricted to water and milk, so this was a treat--and it made sure he stayed hydrated.
We watched lots of videos and cuddled on the couch.
Served him toast until he'd gone about 12 hours without getting sick.

That's really all I had up my sleeve, which is why I wanted to start this thread...I felt a bit useless when he was getting sick.

Okay, looking for tips here. My little one has bronchitis and she is soooo miserable! Doctor says to use a humidifier when she is really congested but this seems to make her rattling and nasty coughing worse! Oh and the night time, she seems to almost choke on the mucus!

Need tips, anybody got some good remedies to help clear her up, and fast? Thanks
