Is it normal to have a soft spot on my belly?

Ever since I passed the 3 month period, I have been having a perfect pregnancy. The baby has been moving a lot but I have not been sick at all.

Earlier today, though, the bottom of my belly started to feel soft. The top and sides are still hard to the touch but the bottom feels slushy. I am scared about it a little and I will be contacting my Dr asap but I wanted to know if anyone else experienced that.

I am at 33 weeks and I am having a girl.

Thanks!
Debra

I just returned from the hospital where I had some tests done. Since the baby was not movig much, in addition to my soft spot, they wanted to monitor her. They did two 20 minute non-stress tests, where they just monitored her heart rate and concluded that she was not moving enough. So they ran an ultrasound to see her movement and eventually she moved enough. We are so relieved!!

About the soft spot, they said that for slim women who are all belly (that is how I carry) the muscles get stretched so far that they get a gap in between the muscles in the front lower part of the stomach. These gaps can feel soft or mushy but they are normal and will close post-partum.

Just wanted to share in case anyone experiences that.

Debra
