The foundation of Biblical parenting part 2 builds further on the lessons taught in Part 1 by taking a solid look at the scriptures in helping parents understand God's plan in our lives and that of our children.

In answer to the question, are children called into God's church now, Joel focuses on many scriptures to emphasize what it means to be called by God including Romans 8:30 - "moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified."

By recognizing and understanding the process of God's calling parents are better able to recognize and understand His plan for our children and our responsibility in teaching them God's truth daily. In Romans 8:30 you can see a series of steps before you are chosen by God, thus being called does not mean you are chosen. To be chosen you must accept the invitation and learn God's truth. We learn that parents must diligently teach their children each day because our children can and should have a certain level of spiritual understanding.

During this audio parents are asked:

  1. What are the different factors that affect the outcome of a child's response to God?
  2. What does God's word tell us about His expectation of parents?
  3. What are some of the roadblocks to teaching that affect a parents ability to really teach their children as they grow up?
  4. What are the vital subjects or principles that parents should want to teach their children?
  5. How can we apply Duet 6:7 - "teach them when you sit in your house, walk by the way, lie down and get up" practically nowadays?

Throughout this study Joel does an excellent job at demonstrating what it means to be called by God and that yes children can be called now. He stresses the need for parents to understand God's plan for them and to diligently teach His word to their children. Our children has a special heritage from God. We should be grateful that God extends an invitation to us and our children.
